RINL celebrated the 78th Independence Day with patriotic zeal, with CMD Shri Atul Bhatt urging employees to focus on value creation to support the company's turnaround efforts.

On August 15, 2024, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated at RINL’s Trishna grounds with Shri Atul Bhatt, CMD of RINL, leading the celebrations. After hoisting the national flag, Shri Bhatt inspected the parade presented by CISF Jawans and extended his Independence Day greetings to employees, their families, and stakeholders.

In his address, Shri Atul Bhatt highlighted the global and domestic economic growth, noting that India is projected to achieve a 7.2% GDP growth in 2024-25. He emphasized the growing demand for steel in India, expected to increase by 8% over the next two years, positioning the country as a key driver in the global steel industry.

“It is time for us to perform with utmost devotion and commitment,” Shri Bhatt stated, urging employees to adopt a three-pronged approach focusing on increasing production, reducing costs, and improving realizations.

RINL has faced challenging times, prompting a review by the Ministry of Steel. Recent visits by the Union Minister of Steel and discussions with bankers have spurred renewed strategies to optimize product mix and focus on high-end value-added products.

The Independence Day celebrations at RINL not only marked a national event but also served as a platform for rallying employees to contribute towards the company’s recovery. The “Sankalp Yatra (Pledge)” taken by all attendees reflects a unified commitment to RINL’s long-term success.

Despite the optimistic outlook, RINL’s path to recovery will require overcoming significant operational and financial hurdles, which may challenge the implementation of the strategies discussed.

The event also featured impressive demonstrations by CISF teams, including a colorful jet display symbolizing the national tricolor, which captivated the audience and bolstered the patriotic spirit of the day.

The 78th Independence Day at RINL was a celebration of national pride and a call to action for the company’s revival. As RINL navigates its challenges, the collective resolve demonstrated during the celebrations offers hope for a stronger future.
