Salesforce has introduced the Connected Vehicle app, a new addition to its Automotive Cloud, designed to help automakers quickly develop and deliver personalized driver experiences. This app integrates vehicle, IoT, and driver data from various sources, reducing development time and enabling over-the-air updates, making cars smarter and more responsive to driver needs.

Salesforce’s Connected Vehicle app offers automakers a streamlined platform to build and deliver customized car features and services. By integrating data from various sources like AWS IoT FleetWise and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud platform, the app enhances vehicle performance monitoring, remote control of vehicle functions, and real-time telematics data analysis. The app is available now, providing tools to personalize driver experiences and roll out updates efficiently.

As the automotive industry moves toward fully connected vehicles by 2030, the demand for advanced, tech-driven car features is growing. Salesforce’s new app enables automakers to meet this demand by providing a unified, intelligent foundation for developing and delivering these features. The app also supports branded in-car offers and in-vehicle purchasing, further enhancing the customer experience.

“Connected Vehicle will accelerate this evolution by enabling automakers to immediately provide drivers with a branded experience that is customized to what they need and desire, when they need it most,” said Achyut Jajoo, SVP & GM of Manufacturing and Automotive at Salesforce.

The automotive industry is increasingly focused on connectivity, with Salesforce’s recent survey indicating that connected features are becoming as crucial to consumers as the car’s brand. By offering tools that allow for faster development and deployment of these features, Salesforce is positioning itself as a key player in the future of connected vehicles.

With Connected Vehicle, automakers can significantly reduce the time and cost of rolling out new features and updates, offering a more dynamic and personalized driving experience. This advancement is likely to drive consumer satisfaction and loyalty, as vehicles become more adaptable to individual driver needs.

While Salesforce’s Connected Vehicle app offers numerous benefits, some automakers may face challenges integrating it with existing systems or managing the vast amount of data generated by connected vehicles. Additionally, the reliance on over-the-air updates could raise concerns about cybersecurity and data privacy.

Yasuhide Mizuno, CEO of Sony Honda Mobility Inc., noted, “Salesforce technology, including Automotive Cloud and Data Cloud, will help us deepen our relationship with our customers. Innovations like Connected Vehicle are purpose-built for the future of automotive.”

Salesforce’s Connected Vehicle app marks a significant step forward in the automotive industry, offering a powerful toolset for automakers to deliver next-generation driver experiences. As connectivity becomes a standard in vehicles, apps like this will play a crucial role in shaping the future of driving.
