Indian Naval Ship INS Tabar has arrived in Esbjerg, Denmark for a two-day visit. The visit, aimed at strengthening the ties between the Indian and Danish navies, will include various professional and cultural exchanges. INS Tabar, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, underscores India’s commitment to fostering international naval partnerships.

On August 18, 2024, the Indian Navy’s INS Tabar, a frontline stealth frigate commanded by Captain MR Harish, docked at Esbjerg, Denmark for a two-day visit. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the bond between the Indian and Danish navies through professional interactions and cultural exchanges.

During its stay at Esbjerg, the crew of INS Tabar will engage in bilateral professional interactions with the Danish Armed Forces, focusing on shared experiences and strengthening operational cooperation. The visit highlights the Indian Navy’s commitment to building strong maritime partnerships globally.

“The arrival of INS Tabar in Denmark reflects the deep-rooted ties between our nations and our shared commitment to regional and international stability,” stated an Indian Navy spokesperson.

The diplomatic relationship between India and Denmark is grounded in historical connections, shared democratic values, and a mutual commitment to peace and stability. These relations were elevated to a “Green Strategic Partnership” during a Virtual Summit on September 28, 2020, between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

The visit of INS Tabar is expected to further strengthen the Green Strategic Partnership, particularly in the context of maritime security and cooperation. It also serves as a testament to India’s expanding naval diplomacy in Europe.

While the visit of INS Tabar strengthens naval ties, there are considerations regarding the environmental impact of such naval operations, particularly in regions committed to green initiatives.

The Indian Navy continues to expand its international reach, with similar visits planned to other strategic locations as part of its commitment to global maritime security.

INS Tabar’s visit to Denmark marks a significant step in enhancing Indo-Danish naval cooperation, reinforcing the strong diplomatic and military ties between the two nations.
